Desk designed by Aldo Tura for Tura, Italy, 1960s. Crafted from wood and entirely clad in stained and lacquered goatskin parchment, the desk is characterised by the richly mottled surface characteristic of Tura’s work, with variations of deep tobacco, amber and black revealed beneath the polished lacquer. The rectangular top is supported by two pedestal legs, giving the desk a strong architectural profile. Four drawers are discreetly integrated across the apron, each fitted with a brass lock, while the drawer interiors are veneered in walnut. A rare and refined example of Tura’s distinctive approach to furniture design, combining simple geometric forms with luxurious natural materials.
