Penguin Chair designed by Theo Ruth for Artifort, Netherlands, 1957. A refined example of Dutch modernism, the chair features a distinctive construction composed of two interlocking elements: a sculpted seat and a separate backrest that slot seamlessly together. It stands on bleached beechwood legs which have a bone-like quality. The chair has been newly upholstered in an ultra-soft textured fabric by Belgian textile house Designs of the Time.
