Post-Modern Table Mirror produced in Italy, c1990s. The mirror comprises an organically shaped mirror plate mounted on a sculptural tripod base of porous volcanic stone. Resting on a turned stone collar, the mirror appears to float above the biomorphic base. The reverse is finished with a pressed metal panel coated in metallic copper paint and decorated in low relief with an abstract motif. A rare and unusual example of Italian postmodern design, demonstrating the movement's fusion of sculptural form and functional design.
