Reading Floor Lamp, produced in Italy, c1950s. The lamp features a brass stem supporting an elongated horizontal arm and a cream enamelled spun-metal shade. Articulated joints at either end allow the arm and shade to be adjusted, directing the light as required. The distinctive hourglass-shaped shade is formed from opposing conical sections, while the brass structure is anchored by a circular travertine base.
