Cocoon Pendant, produced in Germany, c1960s. The pendant comprises a metal framework coated in a translucent membrane, stretched between a series of projecting ribs. Its tapered shade flares dramatically towards the base, where scalloped edges create a distinctive layered profile. When illuminated, the fibrous cocoon material softly diffuses the light, revealing the underlying structure and producing an atmospheric glow.
