Rare 'Calza' Chandelier (model 935) designed by Ludovico Diaz de Santillana for Venini, Italy c1960s. The chandelier comprises numerous hand-blown Murano glass tubes executed in the Calza technique — named for its subtly textured surface. Each element is formed as an elongated cylinder with a graduated amethyst to clear (sommerso) coloration. The individual tubes are suspended from a metal structure in a clustered, multi-tiered configuration, producing a dense, sculptural volume.
